Season 39 Welcomes New Company Artists
Cassie Thoms, Anna Leong, and Sean Sessions Join Ballet Memphis
Meet Cassandra Thoms! Cassie is from Flushing, Michigan and received her training at Nashville Ballet Professional Training Division and Young People’s Ballet Theatre/Paavola’s School of Dance. She has been dancing professionally for four years with Nashville Ballet 2 where she performed choreography by our former dancer and rehearsal assistant, Travis Bradley. We love that connection!
Cassie graduated magna cum laude from Belmont University (impressive!) with a Bachelor of Science degree. She once met Luke Grimes, star of Yellowstone and musician, in a Nashville restaurant after he performed at the Opry! Very cool!
Cassie, we love that you are here with us and can’t wait to see you dance this season! Give her a follow on Instagram @cassieandra55 to learn more about her.
Say hello to Anna Leong! Anna is from Alameda, California and trained at Alameda Ballet Academy as well as UC Irvine Claire Trevor School of the Arts, and was an apprentice at Grand Rapids Ballet. This will be her second season dancing professionally.
Anna says she is ambitious, spontaneous, and chronically online, and her most often used emoji is .
When asked what keeps her motivated and disciplined, she said “I am always learning from my talented colleagues! They inspire me to do my best every day because we are all in it together.” Great answer! We are glad to have you here at Ballet Memphis with us!
Let’s welcome Sean Sessions! Sean is from Baltimore, MD and he has been dancing professionally for 10 years, most recently with St. Louis Ballet.
Even though he has just been in Memphis for a short time, he already feels at home at MindBody Haus and CrossFit Hit and Run, where he says everyone has been so knowledgeable and welcoming.
He wants the locals to know “I’m so excited to join Ballet Memphis for my first season! I hope you come experience the magic of ballet through our shows and community classes!”
We are excited to have you here, Sean! Follow him on Instagram @spressions and he is also teaching Adult Ballet on Mondays and Tuesdays in the evening and I’m sure he’d love to see you there!
