Ballet Memphis to host National Dance Day with the Memphis Zoo July 30

Ballet Memphis, in partnership with the Dizzy Feet Foundation, will be hosting a free community dance event at the main entrance of the Memphis Zoo to celebrate National Dance Day on Saturday, July 30, 2016. Come move and groove and celebrate the joy of dance, no matter your age or level of dance experience! The event begins promptly at 10 a.m.

Ballet Memphis will be teaching the official National Dance Day dance which will be performed "flash-mob style" by all participants and filmed for inclusion on the Dizzy Feet Foundation website.

All ages welcome. Free zoo parking when you mention National Dance Day, or bike or walk from surrounding neighborhoods.

This will be the second year that Ballet Memphis has been the official local source of the National Dance Day event. Last year Ballet Memphis hosted more than 200 participants in the courtyard at Overton Square. Each year locations all across the country host events such as these.

Launched in 2010 by Dizzy Feet Foundation cofounder Nigel Lythgoe (producer of "So You Think You Can Dance"), National Dance Day is a fun, annual celebration to encourage everyone to not only get to know the dance groups in their own backyard but embrace dance as a fun and positive way to maintain good health.
