News from the Ballet School

Virginia Pilgrim Ramey and Brandon Ramey named Ballet Memphis School Asst. Directors

Virginia and Brandon are stepping into new roles in School leadership while they continue as dancers in the professional company.

Here’s what they have to say about Ballet Memphis School:

"Having grown up at Ballet Memphis, I know what a special place it is. As assistant director of the school, I am so excited to continue sharing the joy this art form has brought to my life with the children and youth of Ballet Memphis. Our former students have become professional dancers as well as chemical engineers, dentists, pharmacists, physical therapists, Pilates instructors, visual artists, and some are attending medical school, law school, and the Naval Academy. These successes prove that Ballet Memphis is in the business of teaching far more than just ballet. I feel so fortunate to be a part of this team!" – Virginia Pilgrim Ramey

It is a huge privilege to play a part in each student’s dance journey.

“I am so excited to be taking on this expanded role in the Ballet Memphis School! I know from personal experience how affirming and enriching the act of dance is. Whether a student has professional aspirations or is looking to reap the benefits that ballet has to offer while charting another course, it is a huge privilege to play a part in each student’s dance journey.” - Brandon Ramey
