As the dancers and staff trickled into her office, Dorothy Gunther Pugh knew something was happening, but was totally surprised by the presentation by Memphis Magazine naming her "Memphian of the Year" for 2017. After 30 years of building the arts in Memphis and one of the most diverse dance companies in America, as well as orchestrating a transformative move to Midtown, this honor is well deserved.
