INTRO TO MAT CLASSES

Offered the first two weeks of every session. All ages. Current students can bring a friend and take the class with them for free.

ESSENTIAL LEVEL MAT
Beginning level mat class for those new to Pilates or who have been taking a short time. All fitness levels welcome. You will learn the basic Pilates Principles and how to apply them to each exercise and in movements of daily living.
INTERMEDIATE LEVEL MAT
For those who have been practicing Pilates, have an understanding of the basic principles, and are familiar with the essential level exercises and are ready to move on to a more challenging program.
ADVANCED LEVEL MAT
A challenging work-out for fitness enthusiasts and athletes, the advanced level challenges the endurance of core muscles through exercises involving balance, neuromuscular sequencing and coordination.
ACTIVE FOR LIFE
A safe and effective class for older adults who have been less active due to lifestyle or illness and are in need of building strength, mobility and balance.
DANCE YOUR PILATES
A fun and moving class that fuses Pilates and dance to build strength, stamina, coordination, and balance.
PILATES FOR YOUTH
Both athletic and non-athletic teens can benefit from a well designed Pilates program for youth. The development of body awareness, concentration, injury prevention, strength, and flexibility will carry over into their habits of daily living both on the field and off.
STRENGTH TRAINING ON THE BALL
Take your Pilates workout off the mat and onto the ball for three-dimensional movements that challenge the body’s relationship to gravity. Build strength, balance and agility in all planes of movement for athletic skills and daily living activities. The class will also include work with the small weighted balls.
Learn how to release tension, stress, trauma and chronic pain from your body with different sized balls and rolling tools. Body Rolling will leave you feeling lighter, more spacious, increase your range of motion, heighten your body awareness and create better postural alignment.All levels welcome. Please wear tight fitting clothing. All props supplied.
Fully integrating the elements of Pilates, dance, cardio & strength training, this class will bring your workout to a new level. Taught by experienced STOTT trained instructors, this class will offer challenging exercises to lengthen, sculpt and shape your body.
UNWIND AND REJUVENATE
Neck, shoulders, and lower back ache after a long day of teaching? This class is designed for classroom teachers to unwind and reconnect with their bodies and their minds after a day of teaching. Moving your body through Pilates based exercises will help you transition from your work day to your evening activities leaving you feeling relaxed yet energized.

Want to jump start your day? Get moving in this fast-paced class that prepares your body and your brain for the busy day ahead.
Group Mat Class Prices
*Special pricing is available for trainees, full-time students, professional dancers and performers.
- 10-week mat session: $165 for one class per week, $280 for two classes per week*
- Active for Life: $10 or pay what you can*
- Yoga class cards: $85 for 5 class card, $150 for ten class card
- Body Rolling classes: $150 for 10 classes (1 per week) and $250 for 20 classes (2 per week.)
Group Mat Class Schedule

- During the first 3 weeks of each semester, please call the Pilates Centre to confirm your desired class, as classes may be canceled due to insufficient enrollment.
Pilates equipment training includes more than 500 exercises designed to meet the physical needs of individual clients, and The Pilates Centre is the only facility in Memphis with the entire suite of Pilates equipment under one roof, including Reformers, Cadillac, barrels and more. A private session is required prior to attending group classes so that we may assess your physical needs. Equipment classes may be purchased as privates, semiprivates or groups (of up to 4). All
sessions are scheduled for one hour and 15 minutes to give you a full hour on the equipment.
Periodically, the Pilates Centre offers special workshops (typically a one-day class) on topics of special interest to our clients. Please call 753-4177 for more information and to register.
- Monthly Restorative Movement Workshops — taught by Pam VanGilder. Cost: $25 for current Pilates Centre clients; $30 for new clients with one-week advance registration. Late registration an additional $5.
